Virginia Beach is drawn as a seafront rather than a downtown, and the tallest thing in it is a monument rather than an office. The buildings behind stay deliberately level so that one shape can rise out of them.
What is in the drawing
A slim tower with a pointed cap stands alone at the far left, well clear of its neighbours. Behind it a slab flies a small flag from a staff on its corner. The line drops to a squat block whose parapet is cut into square teeth, then crosses a wide building carrying two low boxes on its roof. At the center an obelisk rises, narrow and rounded at the head, with nothing beside it for its full height. Past it a block with a notched parapet and a taller plain one carry the line on, then a slab with a flat cap and a zigzag scored down its face. The drawing ends on a tall tower under a sharp spire, mounted on a squared base.
Mug or canvas
The ratio is 2.001 to 1, near enough to two, which puts it under the mug band and gives it a small margin either side on the wrap. Coverage is 0.075, mid-table. The deciding feature is the obelisk: it is a thin vertical with white space on both sides, so it survives being small better than any dense cluster would, and the mug is a real option here in a way it is not for the columned or spired drawings.
