Bilbao opens on curved metal volumes folded over each other, which is the one building most people know the city by, and the rest of the drawing is deliberately squarer.
What is in the drawing
Curved volumes open the left, folded over each other, with a squat block beside them. A tower follows at the center, spired, standing on a base that flares out to the ground. Two tall slabs rise behind it, plain and flat-topped. A low front with columns and a small peaked gate runs past them. A stack of banded blocks fills the right, and a slim tower closes the line.
Mug or canvas
The drawing measures 2.394 to 1 where the band is 2.14, so the wrap fits it to the width and the curved volumes sit off to one side. Ink of 0.095 is moderate, but those curves are the softest strokes in it and want 24 by 16 before they read as folds rather than a blur.
